HappyMe Privacy Policy
Effective date: 7 November 2026 · Last updated: 7 November 2026
This policy explains what information the HappyMe app handles on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play), why, and the choices you have. It replaces the separate iOS and Android policies dated 1 August 2025 and 19 April 2025.
1. Who we are
HappyMe is made and run by Malhar Bakshi, an individual developer based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (“we”, “us”). “You” means anyone who uses the app.
Questions about privacy go to happyme.app666@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.
2. The short version
- HappyMe has no accounts. You never sign up or sign in.
- Your journals, Vision Book, goals, photos and plans stay on your device. We never receive them.
- We collect a small set of anonymous usage events, not linked to your name, to understand how the app is used.
- If you allow notifications, a notification service receives what it needs to deliver them.
- Payments are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card details.
- We don’t sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
3. What stays on your device
Everything you create in HappyMe is stored only on your phone, in the app’s own storage. That includes:
- the name, profile picture and goals you enter during setup
- Vision Book goals and the photos you attach to them
- journal entries of every type (gratitude, reflection, well-being, self-discovery, diary)
- Daily Planner, Goal Workbook and organizer entries
- affirmation choices, streaks, reminders and settings
We don’t have a server that stores this data, and none of it is sent to us or to the services listed in section 7. Reminders you set are scheduled on your device.
4. What we collect
4.1 Anonymous usage events
We use Mixpanel to count a few key moments in the app: when onboarding is opened and completed, when the subscription screen is shown, and when a free trial is started (including the plan and its price). Each event also records the platform (iOS or Android), the app build and the time.
Mixpanel stores these events under a random ID it creates for your installation. As part of receiving them, Mixpanel can see basic device details (such as device model, operating system version and app version) and your IP address, which it may use to estimate your country or city. Mixpanel never receives your name or anything you write in the app.
4.2 Push notifications
We use OneSignal to send notifications. If you allow notifications, OneSignal receives a notification token for your device, along with device details such as model, operating system, app version, language and time zone, and your IP address, which it may use to estimate your approximate location. We also record whether you have finished onboarding, so that messages fit where you are in the app. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
4.3 Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We use RevenueCat to check whether you have premium access. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase and subscription status from the store, and basic device and app details. We never receive your name, email address or payment card details from these services.
4.4 Audio and images
The first time you play a track, the app downloads it from our content servers and saves it on your device. Background images load the same way. Like any web server, these servers record technical details of each request, such as IP address, time and the file requested, to keep the service running and secure.
4.5 Things you choose to send us
- Feedback forms. We may invite you to an optional feedback form on Google Forms. If you add your name or email address, we use them only to reply to you, and your feedback only to improve HappyMe.
- Emails. If you write to us, we keep your message and email address to answer you.
4.6 What we don’t collect
We don’t collect your precise location, contacts, microphone audio, or health records. We don’t use advertising identifiers, and the app contains no advertising.
5. Permissions the app asks for
- Photos and camera: only when you add a picture to your Vision Book, journal or profile. The picture stays on your device.
- Notifications: for reminders and occasional updates. You can say no, or switch them off later.
- Files and storage: only when you back up or restore your data.
6. Backing up and restoring your data
Because your data lives only on your device, deleting the app or losing your phone deletes it too, unless you have a backup. HappyMe lets you create one:
- iPhone: in Profile, tap Backup Data and choose where to save the file, for example in Files or iCloud Drive. To restore, tap Import Data, then Restore Data, and pick the file.
- Android: in Profile, tap Backup Data. The file is saved in Download → HappyMeDataBackup, named with the date and time. To restore, tap Restore Data and pick the file.
A backup file contains all of your app data, so store it somewhere safe. You are responsible for keeping your backup files secure. We can’t recover data that wasn’t backed up, and we aren’t responsible for loss or misuse of backup files or for device problems that prevent a backup or restore. The FAQs in the app explain backup and restore step by step.
7. Who processes data for us
| Provider | What it does for HappyMe | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | App Store distribution and payments on iOS | Purchase and download details, under Apple’s privacy policy |
| Google Play distribution and payments on Android; Google Forms for optional feedback | Purchase and download details; anything you enter in a feedback form, under Google’s privacy policy | |
| RevenueCat | Checking premium access | Anonymous app user ID, purchase status, device and app details (privacy policy) |
| Mixpanel | Anonymous usage analytics | The events in section 4.1, random ID, device details, IP address (privacy policy) |
| OneSignal | Push notifications | Notification token, device details, language, time zone, IP address, onboarding status (privacy policy) |
| Cloudflare and our web host | Delivering audio and images | Technical request details, such as IP address and time |
8. We do not sell your data
We never sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it to target ads. HappyMe contains no advertising tools.
9. International transfers
The providers in section 7 may process data outside your country, mainly in the United States. They protect it under their own policies and the safeguards recognised by applicable law.
10. How long data is kept
- Your app content: on your device until you delete it or the app.
- Usage events and notification data: kept by Mixpanel and OneSignal for as long as they are useful to us, and removed when we no longer need them.
- Purchase records: kept by RevenueCat, Apple and Google as long as needed to provide your purchases and as the law requires.
- Server request logs: kept for a limited time for operation and security.
- Feedback and emails: kept as long as needed to respond and improve the app.
11. Deleting your data
There is no account to delete. To remove your app data, delete the app, which erases everything stored in it. Backup files you saved elsewhere stay where you saved them until you delete them.
Deleting the app also stops all usage events and notifications. To ask us to delete usage or notification records, email us. Because these records aren’t linked to your name, we may not be able to find the ones that belong to you.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent (for example, by switching off notifications), and to receive a copy of it. To use any of these rights, email happyme.app666@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.
13. Children
HappyMe is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. Anyone between 13 and 18 should use the app with a parent or guardian’s involvement.
14. Security
Your app content stays on your device, protected by your device’s own security, such as your passcode. Data sent to the providers above travels over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transfer is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to make sure the app doesn’t put your device’s data at risk.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Each update is posted on this page with a new date, and significant changes may also be shown in the app.
